Athletic Trainer Coordinator

Florence, SC


  1. Maintains a professional image and provides excellent service to athletes, parents, coaches, school personnel, patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Core Values and Service Excellence Standards. Utilizes Service Excellence Standards throughout the hospital and outlying programs by taking ownership of customer needs and handling customer complaints promptly and effectively using the service recovery approach.
  2. Fosters an environment that demonstrates caring, compassion, and respect for all athletes, parents, coaches, school personnel, patients, families, visitors and employees by projecting an attitude of flexibility and positivity to benefit the team and patient.
  3. Performs the duties of a staff athletic trainer (refer to job description 14800)
  4. Provides an environment of care that demonstrates commitment to the McLeod Health Mission, Values, and Service Excellence standards.
  5. Identifies and initiates development of new programs and new protocols / procedures.
  6. Provides daily management of a specialized department program.
  7. Orients, trains, and supervises novice employees, serving as a mentor and assisting in professional
  8. Develops and arranges in-service schedules, competency training, and other learning experiences for professional staff.
  9. Contributes to department growth and performance by participating in hospital-system initiatives, marketing strategies, and community outreach activities that promote service line.  Assists with the Performance Improvement Program for the department
  10. Demonstrates commitment to Evidence Based Practices and continued professional growth through setting professional development goals and participating in educational opportunities.
  11. Assists in planning and coordinates student affiliations for fieldwork students.


Acts as an ATC supervisor in the supervisor’s absence, is flexible, and demonstrates the ability to float between athletic training outreach sites.


Work Schedule Full-time (80 hours biweekly).


Department Description Sports Medicine – Orthopedic and sports therapy services are available for individuals with acute or chronic orthopedic and sports-related conditions. Our Athletic Training Outreach program has contracts with public and private high schools, several local colleges and a summer collegiate baseball league.


Preferred Qualifications/Education

  • Masters preferred
  • Minimum of three years of related work experience


Licenses and/or Certifications:

  • Active BOC certification and SC DHEC certification
