JOB DESCRIPTION
  1. Job responsibilities include those listed in competency document. 

  1. Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.  

  1. Treatments are performed as ordered in a safe, timely manner.  Staff and family members are involved in the treatment when indicated. 

  1. Medical documentation is in accordance with APTA standards of care. 

  1. Participates in performance improvement monitors, reporting and utilization of Physical Rehab services. Attends and takes part in in-services, 

  1. meetings, and educational sessions. 

  1. Promotes intra/inter positive departmental relations through both verbal and nonverbal communications. 

  1. Assists in adjusting schedules to accommodate changes in caseload in the department. 

  1. Ensures an orderly, clean, safe work area. 

  1. Demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret information appropriate for the age and needs of patients. 

  1. Displays an understanding and appropriately modifies approach to each patient based on the patient’s cognitive, emotional, and chronological  

  1. maturity in the assessment, treatment, and care undertaken. 

  1. Results of performance improvement indicate appropriate response to patients and treatments/assessments initiated. 

  1. Participates in departmental in-services and meetings. 

  1. Meets with Occupational Therapist on regular basis to discuss patient and address goals.  

  1. Performs evidenced based care.  Seeks out research to support interventions. 

  1. Attends mandatory meetings as required by the hospital or department. 

  1. Willingly participates in doing other duties although not directly assigned.  Seeks out work that needs to be done. 

  1. Is accountable for cost-effective quality patient care and assists other personnel in containing costs. 

  1. Recognizes problems and recommends solutions for positive changes in operations. 

  1. Demonstrates an ability to adapt to changes in operations, management styles and position routines.   

  1. Assumes personal responsibilities for professional development and continuing education.  Willingly participates in continuing education    

  1. programs when requested. 

  1. Responds to coworkers in a helpful manner, especially in times of increased activity. 

  1. Addresses all persons in a pleasant, tactful and respectful manner. 

  1. Demonstrates an alert, sensitive and supportive attitude and responds with empathy and positive interpersonal skills. 

  1. Respects, at all times, the confidentiality of patient’s records and facility operations.  Uses complete discretion when discussing patient matters. 

  1. Demonstrates a complete knowledge of the staffing hierarchical structure and chain of command; follows proper lines of communication. 

  1. Demonstrates a time-conscious awareness and strives to use time effectively. 

  1. Arranges time schedule in accordance with the needs of the hospital. 

  1. Demonstrates an ability to set appropriate priorities. 

  1. Is prompt in completing assigned activities. 

  1. Is willing to adjust personal schedule to complete workload or special assignments when requested. 

 

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education 

Current South Carolina licensure.  Current CPR certification. 

Associate’s Degree from an AOTA approved/accredited program
