Certified Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant

The Certified Medical Assistant maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. Fosters an environment that demonstrates caring, compassion, and respect for all patients, families, visitors and co-workers. Maintains active license and appropriate certifications. Demonstrates proficiency in use of all medical equipment in the office. Adheres to procedural checklists for administering all injections. Ensures that all examination rooms are clean and fully stocked with supplies, including replacing any expired supplies. Call patients from the waiting area using appropriate title and last name to a clean, well-stocked examination room. Obtain and accurately document vital signs and confirm chief complain. Triage and perform in-house diagnostic testing according to Practice Protocols/Standing Orders. Manages patient workflow in the clinical area. Provides support and assistance as needed to patients, nurses, physicians, and other staff. Participates proactively in problem solving and process improvement activities through collaboration with clinical teams using Evidence Based Practices. Demonstrates continued professional growth through goal-setting and participation in educational offerings. Performs other duties as assigned.

 The Certified Nursing Assistant maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. Other responsibilities will include:

  • Pre-Op Visit/Established follow up/Hospital follow up/New Patient appointments– Assembles and assists in the preparation of clinical documentation in advance. Obtain all records related to this follow up i.e. hospital records, prior specialist records and testing, etc.
  • Administration – supports team members in handling key administrative duties
  • Triaging: Entering/updating all medications; take vitals: BP/HR/Height/Weight; Clean/disinfect exam room(s) after each patient, keep rooms fully stocked; prep patient for proper exam;
  • Support nursing staff in handling key clinical duties
  • Quality Improvement – Actively participates in the care team and cross functional team quality improvement process
  • Incoming/Outgoing referrals – Assist in getting patients scheduled appropriately and timely
  • Dispose of biohazard/needle boxes in dedicated area in the office
  • Back-up to scheduling surgeries and obtain prior authorizations
  • Schedule testing at the hospital and obtain prior authorizations

  

Qualifications /Training:

  • One year experience in a physician’s office or other clinical setting.

 

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma/Equivalent from an accredited school.
  • CMA –Must be a graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program and must have a valid, active certification, verified by an accredited board, and BLS Certification.
  • CNA – Must have evidence of Nursing Assistant training. Nursing Assistance Certification required.

Work Schedule

  • Full Time, 80 hours biweekly
