Family Practice seeking CMA or LPN
Physician Office (LPN)
The Physician Office LPN will assist the nursing staff with phone calls by obtaining history and patient symptoms. The nurse will determine if the patient needs to be brought into the office or assist the patient over the phone. The nurse will handle authorizations for medications, paperwork, such as disability forms,home bound, etc., The nurse will take telephone messages for either doctor, can fill in for either doctor if they have an employee out, will be able to schedule MRI's /EEGs with sedation through "Bed Board" after they have been authorized by insurance. Works well with entire staff.
Full time - Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 5:00pm
High school diploma or GED equivalent and a graduate of an accredited licensed practical nursing program. SC nursing license required.
Prefer one year experience in a physician's office or other clinical setting. experience with prior authorization and phone triage preferred.
Certified Medical Assistant
The Certified Medical Assistant assists the physician with giving medical care to the patients; responsible for taking vital signs, history, asks patient for chief complaint, documents all relevant information and treatment in the patient's chart; schedules testing and referral appointments for patients, per physician's instruction; telephones pharmacies with prescriptions requested by the physician; maintains medical supply inventory; orders all medical supplies and provides support to front office personnel; performs other duties necessary in providing high quality patient care; greets patients and visitors and handles incoming telephone calls in a friendly and courteous manner; responsible for timely and accurate patient registration and check-in; schedules appointments and re-appointments; key in demographic information into the computer; performs a variety of clerical support functions such as files charts at the end of each day, pulls charts for next day appointments and files all information into the charts; retrieves charts form medical records.
High school diploma or GED equivalent. Certification from accredited Medical Assistant Program preferred.
Prefer one year experience in a physician's office or other clinical setting.
