The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process to address the holistic needs of patients and their significant others, during hospitalization, and preparation for discharge. Reporting to the Unit Director, the Registered Nurse may supervise the work of other Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and assist personnel in efforts to deliver care for a prescribed shift of time. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the quality of care directly rendered and that he/she delegates to others.
72hrs biweekly; straight nights and rotating shifts (experienced nurses only) are available with every other weekend and holidays. Call is required.
CVICU is a 15 bed ICU. We care for patients undergoing cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries. We also serve as an overflow unit for medical patients when needed. Care is provided by a multidisciplinary team made up of an intensivist, respiratory therapist, dietitian, case manager, social worker and nurse. Other disciplines such as rehab services are involved as needed.
At least a two-year associate's degree from an accredited school in nursing.
