JOB DESCRIPTION

Follow correct procedure for accessioning specimen 

Verify Identification of specimen by comparing requisition and specimen 

Label and prepare slides accurately  

Performs slide/specimen preparation and analysis using appropriate procedure with precision and accuracy  

Evaluates quality of sections/slides before giving to pathologist 

Assists in maintaining supplies 

Perform routine and pre-routine maintenance 

Operates equipment and instruments accurately using established protocol and quality control check

 

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education: 

Baccalaureate degree.  Successful completion of accredited NAACLs histotechnology program or equivalent.
