Inventory Management Technician
Essential Functions
” Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. ” Exhibits and conveys the message of the Service Excellence Standards, Value of Caring, Value of the Person, Value of Quality, and the Value of Integrity in every interaction. ” Assists Pharmacists and Technicians by ensuring efficient operation of drug distribution and inventory processes related to all pharmacy technology systems (including but not limited to: remote temperature monitoring systems, pharmacy data reporting software, pharmacy optimization software, diversion detection, DSCSA management, etc). ” Trains and educates staff on safe and effective use of pharmacy technology products as needed. ” Maintains accurate policies and procedures around pharmacy technology, making changes when necessary. ” Communicates process changes to pharmacy staff and other departments/sites as needed; facilitates education to impacted staff/departments/sites when necessary. ” Utilizes pharmacy technologies to regulate and optimize inventory management: to help control costs, improve accessibility, prevent inclusion of inappropriate medications (i.e. hazardous, low usage, expired), etc. ” Participates in implementation of new pharmacy technologies, including coordinating quotes, orders, shipments, deliveries, storage and equipment configurations. Manages current and future pharmacy technology/automation as deemed appropriate. ” Assists with configuring all pharmacy technology and interfaces. Modifies and/or creates standard reports for pharmacy technology. Coordinates with IS and pharmacy staff to anticipate, troubleshoot or solve any pharmacy technology issues. ” Performs maintenance activities related to pharmacy technology systems, including but not limited to linked formulary and drug information databases, product scanning, product availability and purchases, usage tracking, backorders, etc. ” Attends all necessary meetings regarding pharmacy technology used at any point in the medication use/administration/purchasing process. ” Schedules and oversees upgrades/downtimes related to pharmacy technology as needed to insure minimal downtime and disruptions to patient care. Communications and coordinates with all impacted departments to minimize disruptions. ” Provides and interprets reports for pharmacy technology. ” Works with various members of the 340B Team to ensure electronic processes remain compliant with 340B regulations. ” Adheres to all local, state and federal rules and regulations relating to the use of pharmacy technologies, including those regulations that govern drug distribution and inventory management processes.
Work Schedule: 80 Hours Biweekly. Full time
Qualifications/Training: ” 2-4 years of pharmacy technician experience
Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education: ” South Carolina Pharmacy Technician Registration ” State Certified Technician Preferred
