Job Description
  1. Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards/Core Values.
  2. Ensures safe and adequate patient care during assigned shift with documentations that is accurate, legible dated/timed.
  3. Adjusts N/P ratios by altering assignments based on patient need. Prioritizes needs to the best utilization of resources.
  4. Communicates hospital activities, emergency situations, Patient/ staff/physician needs of an unusual nature to the AOC.
  5. Documents hospital deaths. Ensures timely notification of next of kin/Sharing Hope SC/selected funeral home. Serves as a liaison with county coroner, law enforcement concerning deaths, autopsies and transfer of deceased.
  6. Ensures privacy/confidentiality of patient, employee, and hospital information.
  7. Demonstrates appropriate handling/ storage of medications. Investigates narcotic discrepancies occurring during shift.
  8. Coordinates intra/interdepartmental functions as indicated/licensure/competency allows.
  9. Promptly places work order(s) for environmental/equipment repair or maintenance needs.
  10. Demonstrates ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful conditions.
  11. Establishes relationships with ED and admitting medical staff to optimize patient care and staff relationships.
  12. Takes ownership of customer needs. Utilizes GET-IT (Greet, Explain, Task, Instruct Thank) when communicating with patients, physicians and staff. Utilizes the GIFT (Give sincere apology, Identify with complaint, Fix and follow-up, Thank them for bringing to our attention) method when responding to customer concerns.

7p - 7a shift

May require occasionally floating to the Loris campus.

Required Skills

Qualifications/Training:

  • Five years acute care clinical experience with at least one year in a charge nurse or preceptor role

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education:

  • Must possess a valid nursing license from SC or other compact state - RN, BLS
  • CPI within 6 months of hire to supervisor role
