A Registered nurse is responsible for delivery of patient care through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) during hospitalization and preparation for discharge. Also directs and guides patient education and activities of ancillary personnel, while maintaining responsibility for the quality of care directly rendered or that he/she delegates to others. The Registered Nurse coordinates, appropriately delegates, and monitors tasks assigned to the members of the care team for patients in any sector of life span with a wide variety of medical/surgical conditions.
SCHEDULE: 72 hrs biweekly; Nights.
Graduate of nursing program that meets the educational requirement for Registered Nurse licensure and current unrestricted South Carolina Registered Nurse Licensure.
Demonstrates and maintains BLS certification
Computer skills- Knowledge of computer programs utilized to deliver patient care.
Attends a critical care class and ACLS within 12 months of employment
Knowledge and practical skills in the care of patient with invasive monitoring and therapies
Ability to read and interpret documents such as lab values, reports, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and policy and procedure manuals. Ability to interact effectively with patients, families, peers, physicians, other health care providers and the public
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all unit of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate drug dosage, IV flow rates.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to think critically and prioritize actions to promote optimal patient outcomes.
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, may involve some stooping,
kneeling, crouching, pushing and pulling
- Assist in the physical movement of patients or equipment 3. Excellent visual, auditory, and verbal skill
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally
lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. or >utilizing additional staff, assistance devices, etc.
Required to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities to effectively communicate with and provide age appropriate treatment to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations including but not limited to drug calculations and administrations of medications
