Medical Technologist (MLS)

Under general supervision perform a full range of laboratory tests, from simple to complex at the request of a physician.  Confirm accuracy of test results and report findings to pathologist and other physicians.  Evaluate new tests and new equipment and perform quality control.

 

 

 

Requirements:  Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology or in appropriate biological, chemical or physical science plus minimum of twelve months training in accredited school of medical technology or equivalent work experience required.  Certification by recognized national certifying agency strongly preferred. ASCP certification preferred.
