JOB DESCRIPTION

7. Under the supervision of the AVP, competently manages employee related complaints, issues and concerns to optimize

the work environment in, but not limited to the SCU. This will be demonstrated through, but not limited to, the

following:

· Staffing/Flow

· Unit Specific Tasks

· Access Control Applications for the SCU

· Identifying and Accessing Resources for the SCU, materials management

· Disaster Plan

· Patient Privacy

· Patient Education

· Infection Control Precautions

· Patient Safety Initiatives

· Assess readiness for inspection by DNV, SCDHEC, and any applicable regulatory agency

8. Supervises and ensures use of appropriate health and safety equipment to protect both patient and staff in, but not

limited to the SCU.

9. Performs Patient Care Management duties in maintaining an organized workflow and open communication including:

development and evaluation, Performance Improvement and staffing patterns.

10. Participates in managing fiscal responsibility of the unit.

11. Fosters interdepartmental and collaborative relationships. Communicates clearly with other medical center personnel.

12. Performs all other duties as they relate to this position.

13. Maintains competency in caring for the patients receiving care in the SCU.

14. Orients new employees when hired and will train all employees if new procedures or methods are established.

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications /Training:

· Minimum of 2 years management experience

· Basic computer skills

· Minimum 1 year of related work experience

 

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education:

· Must possess an Associates or Bachelor’s degree
