Registered Dietitian III
1. Maintains a professional image and fosters excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. 2. Provide clinical nutritional services in the form of nutrition assessments, education and medical nutrition therapy for all ages for patients at McLeod Health. May conduct nutrition therapy/nutritional assessments to patients at various McLeod campuses. Provide on-going nutrition therapy by collaborating with other disciplines on the health care team to coordinate medical nutrition therapy needs. Participate in multidisciplinary rounds. Contribute to hospital quality improvement initiatives. Occasional travel may be necessary as deemed appropriate. Provide medical nutrition therapy for patients and groups in the community to prevent disease and to promote the health and well-being of McLeod Health patients. 3. Must have a clean, neat appearance and friendly attitude. Hospital dress code. 4. May be required to take on a preceptor and/or other supervisory role within a student’s learning pending healthcare facility needs and intern availability. 5. Must actively engage with colleagues and interdisciplinary team members via case presentations and/or in-services as deemed appropriate per hospital leadership. Act as preceptor for students. 6. Responsible for new employee precepting/training, ensuring departmental compliance with established unit standards, policies and specific standards of care. Responsible for departmental scheduling. 7. Will take weekly call with Clinical Nutrition Manager for departmental needs. 8. Shall demonstrate leadership & commitment with respect to the quality management system by promoting the use of the process approach and risk-based thinking; engaging, directing and supporting persons to contribute to the effectiveness of the quality management system and promoting improvement. Will be responsible for quality improvement work as assigned. 9. Additional duties as assigned by Clinical Nutrition Manager. Qualifications /Training: At least 2 years of dietitian/related experience required. Strong time management skill set preferred.
Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or related area and completion of a dietetic internship program from an ADA/ACEND- approved Dietetic Education Program. Licensure with the South Carolina Panel for Dietetics required. Graduate degree or approved specialty certification required within 1 year of hire.
