JOB DESCRIPTION

Essential Functions

1. Verifies patient by identification band and verbal response comparing two identifiers with the requisition and chart.
2. Ensures correct procedure is done by checking requisitions, calls for order clarification as needed and documents order clarification correctly.
3. Treats patient and procedure in accordance with the MRMC Confidentiality policy.
4. Completes annual training and demonstrates age-specific care thereby meeting the needs of patient population served.
5. Greets and assists patient with appropriate attire for procedures, thoroughly explains procedure, length and expectations along with desired results.
6. Expresses sincere concern for patient’s well-being by conveying the feeling that they are the reason we are here and to reduce the patient’s anxiety.
7. Selects and utilizes appropriate technical factors for procedure based on body habitus, pathology and body part and consistently positions patient properly for procedure.
8. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of imaging equipment on the Radiology Skills Checklist.
9. Maintains attentiveness to equipment and patient during procedure.
10. Maintains acceptable completion time based on the complexity of the procedure thereby demonstrates good utilization of time through productivity.
11. Completes documentation for billing purposes.
12. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Training

• Candidate must be enrolled in a School of Radiologic Technology Program, successfully completed the junior year, and actively participating in a clinical rotation.
• Registry eligible candidates must complete and pass ARRT exam within 12 months of graduation from Radiologic Technology Program

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education

• Temporary Certification Limited License with South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA)
• BLS certification
