JOB DESCRIPTION

Provide general supervision for the Electrical and Electronics positions assigned to the Engineering Department 

Achieves Electrical/Electronic Maintenance operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, work order productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing risk assessments; identifying trends; managing energy efficiency, determining system improvements; implementing change.

Meets Electrical/Electronic Maintenance financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.

Insure that the following systems and equipment are well-maintained, including: Electrical, electronic, nurse call, pneumatic tube, fire alarm, elevator, CATV, parking control, overhead paging, parking control, overhead emergency paging, and EEPS.

Insure maintenance of all systems including testing as required by applicable codes and standards.

Insure that personnel are trained, and supplies are available to keep all systems in good repair. 

Evaluate performance of assigned personnel and assess competencies and deficiencies. 

Working weekends and different shifts and taking rotating call will be required. 

Maintains mechanical systems by providing engineering support; managing staff.

Accomplishes Electrical/Electronic Maintenance human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures. 

Responsible for reporting to the AHJ information including, but not limited to: Emergency Lighting Testing, Emergency Electrical Power Systems, Fire Alarm Testing, Fire Extinguisher Testing, and Infrared Testing.and Infrared Testing.

Complies with codes by adhering to requirements; advising senior management on needed actions.

Maintains supplies inventory by checking material stock to determine inventory levels; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for material; reviewing and approving invoices.

Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.

Updates Electrical/Electronic engineering job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Work Schedule: 80 hours bi-weekly

 

Qualifications/Training:

In lieu of an associate degree, minimum of 10 years of experience maintaining commercial/industrial electrical/electronic systems will be accepted. Must have 5 years supervisory experience. Must be able to demonstrate general computer data entry. 

 

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education            

  • An Associate Degree from an accredited institution
  • Due to insurance regulations, must be at least 21 years of age with a valid driver’s license.
  • Must obtain a SC State Electrical License or a SC State Master’s Certification with in 1 year of hire.
