JOB DESCRIPTION
Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
Works collaboratively with analyst teams, clinicians, departmental leadership, quality, accreditation and regulatory agencies, to clarify needs, prioritize and guide effective design workflow, execute change, and facilitate adaptation to the electronic medical record. These workflows support improvement measures, patient safety enhancement, and continuous improvement in overall efficiency related to the electronic medical record
Serve as a resource to end users for information systems and technology; effectively communicates system changes, workflow process changes, downtime procedures, etc.
Knowledgeable in nursing care and exhibits the clinical and professional skills to positively interact with physicians, nurses, and other health care practitioners in both hospital and ambulatory settings.
Contributes to the development of the practice of the profession within the institution and participates in the department’s clinical programs as well as participation in IT initiatives and programs.
Oversight of the development and management of evidence-based Physician Order Sets across the Mcleod Health System, in accordance with clinical guidelines, regulatory agencies (CMS, DNV, Disease Specific Certifications) and organization standards.
Expert in project management and problem solving methodology, reliability theory, change theory, and team collaboration.
Rounds on clinical areas as needed on all McLeod Health campuses as applicable.
Work Schedule: 80 hours bi-weekly
Qualifications/Education/Training:
- Minimum of five years of experience in a clinical setting.
- Prefer a minimum three years of experience supporting electronic health records through informatics.
- Minimum three years of computer experience to include word processing and spreadsheets.
Licenses and/or Certifications:
- Must possess and maintain a valid license to practice clinically in the state of North and South Carolina
- EPIC Informaticist Certification upon hire or within 6 months of employment
