Essential Functions

The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process to address the holistic needs of patients and their significant others, during hospitalization, and preparation for discharge.  Reporting to the Unit Director, the Registered Nurse may supervise the work of other Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and assist personnel in efforts to deliver care for a prescribed shift of time.  The Registered Nurse is responsible for the quality of care directly rendered and that he/she delegates to others.

Weekend only work: Night shift 

Skills RequiredAt least a two-year associate’s degree from an accredited school in nursing.

Weekend Only Work (WOW) Staffing Program

The Weekend Only Work Staffing Program (WOW) is designed to help meet the operating needs of approved Nursing Units.  The WOW Program meets special staffing needs and permits employees to work three twelve-hour shifts on the weekend and receive special pay for their commitment.

Nurses must meet the following criteria:

  • Licensed in the state of South Carolina as required.
  • Minimum requirement of one-year full-time in a comparable acute care clinical setting.
  • Successful completion of NIH Stroke Certification within 6 months of hire date and renewal every 2 years thereafter.
